The highly anticipated conclusion of “The Swim Battle 3 – The Finale” was held on a bright Saturday morning, marking the final event in a thrilling three-series competition. The event, known for its long-distance races, gathered top swimmers from across the country to compete in various age groups. Held at the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center, this prestigious meet showcased the endurance and talent of the nation’s best athletes.
Swim League Philippines (SLP) President Fred Ancheta introduced significant changes in the competition format this year, aligning with global standards. “The seeding is now arranged from fastest to slowest based on submitted seed entry times, a system practiced in USA Swimming and other progressive organizations,” said Ancheta. “We’re also introducing split record times in the event results, which will help both swimmers and coaches evaluate their progress more effectively.”
The competition was broadcasted live via streaming on the SLP website, Facebook page, and TV Channel 8, with real-time results available on Meet Mobile. Top performers were honored, with World Aquatics points swimmers being named Most Valuable Swimmers in each age group, alongside the Top 800m and 1500m swimmers. The meet also recognized the Most Outstanding Swimmers and the Top 7 teams.
Ancheta highlighted the importance of innovation in sports: “Innovation is key to success, and we believe we can be part of that change for the better. It’s all about pushing the sport forward while keeping our athletes motivated.”
Opening Ceremony Sets the Stage
The meet began at 8:00 AM with a solemn opening prayer, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” displayed on the big screen. This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Muntinlupa City Hymn. Esteemed guests included Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon, who delivered the welcome remarks, along with Congressman Jaime Fresnedi and 1Munti Chief and former Vice Mayor Jo Jay Alcaraz. Swim League Philippines Chairperson Joan Mojdeh, SRMD Head Joshua Cosare, YASDO Head Cynthia Viacrusis, ISAAL President Dennis Balquedra, and Philippine Diving Head Marie Dimanche were also present.
The entrance of meet officials, led by SLP resident referee Marvin Villa, immediately followed the formalities, and the competition kicked off with a ceremonial start initiated by Atty. Jo Jay Alcaraz.

During the meet, various prominent figures in Philippine swimming dropped by to show their support, including Coastman Unisan top brass coaches Leo Concepcion and Kishore Patrimonio.
